I am interested in exploring complicated surface designs through the use of layered pigments and prints to create symmetrical chaos and even structured design. Each work is a window showcasing unlimited combinations of techniques and experimentation. Different layers of print, dye, paint or fabric, give a sense of depth and dimension that I endeavor to reveal in all my pieces. I am fascinated with how these layers create visually remarkable fiber art.
I create each piece for its own sake- refusing to assign meaning, or some personal association or experience. My only agenda is art for art's sake.
I also feel a special obsession, for my art works to be made by hand beginning with the drawing of my own silk screen prints, and hand dyeing and painting the fabrics. I prefer to work with my own colors and printed images to transform plain fabrics into fiber art.
